Our New Onbuhimo!

Posted on

The Onbuhimo, what is it and why do we love it so much? An onbuhimo is a traditional Japanese style baby carrier designed to be worn high on the back. This waistless soft carrier gives a wonderful feeling of freedom to you while letting your little one ride high enough to see over your shoulder and be right where the action is. Comfortable and supportive for both of you.

Our Onbuhimo carrier is as beautiful as it is functional, is extremely lightweight, and folds up small for easy diaper bag storage. This carrier is designed for babies who are sitting unassisted, from 15 lbs up to 35 lbs. A great carrier for toddlers who love quick ups and downs! Also, a wonderful carrier for pregnant mothers as it has no waistband. Our Onbuhimo can be worn on the front or back, has two available chest strap sizes, six different chest clip positions, and a detachable hood for sleepy babies. Made right here in California of signature Sakura Bloom linen with our new supple leather. Designed with both you and your baby in mind, with less straps and less fuss, our Onbuhimo makes outings simple - just the way we like things at Sakura Bloom!

Sakura Bloom is a company with a heart. Founded in 2006, we are a small family-run business based in San Diego. Our carriers have always been made in the USA. We stand with and for women, babies, creating jobs and paying fair wages, education, and empowering parents. We give back to community non-profit organizations through our compassion project. Every day, we offer one-on-one babywearing education to new parents both online and in our community studio. We travel as a family to source our textiles and work with artisans, whether it is to San Francisco or to India. In the last eleven years, we have worked with parents and babies around the world to share, to learn, and to grow. We are excited to introduce our new Onbuhimo to you - a beautiful, simple carrier with a treasured history for you and your baby. We know you’re going to love this carrier as much as we do!

This is amazing – your products are so beautiful. I will be visiting my sister in a month and would love to give her this. I bought her the granite sling and she was the over the moon.

As a pregnant mom of a toddler that loves her “Up-up’s” I am so looking forward to adding this Onbuhimo to my stash! I love the leather detailing and the color selection is lovely

I am loving this! As someone who sells Sakura, I can see this will be a huge hit. Just the other day we had a 20 week pregnant mother in with her toddler. She wanted a two shoulder carrier, but everything we have, has a belt, and it all irritated her belly. This would be the solution!

So beautiful and so minimal! Waiting eagerly for pricing and availability. I told my husband I might have to sell some of my other carrriers so we can snag one of these…we have a Toddler and a baby on the way. Reason enough for a new carrier. I love that it doesn’t have a waist band!

I’m a faithful Sakura Bloom customer. Have purchased 3 from you guys. Don’t like any other brands. Excited about this new onbuhimo carrier.

This is absolutely stunning!!! Jaw dropping gorgeous, oh I’d love to test one of these in our Louisiana hot and humid summers. My son is 14.5 months and so active…just like his big sister! He hates the time it takes to wrap. When will these be available for purchase?!? I can’t wait to purchase one!

I feel like you’re speaking directly to me—I’ve got a toddler and I’m also pregnant (not that I envision myself carrying a toddler while pregnant!). Can you please email me when this becomes available?! Thanks!

I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these! I will need it once my husband leaves for deployment! I will need something easy and quick like this for my now 3 month old so we can chase her brother around with ease!!

I’m so excited for this beauty! My daighter just surpassed the 15lb mark and with my almost four year olds obsession with bein Bear Grylls, I needed a carrier like this. You folks are always on point with the classiest, functional, quality products and I thank you for that.
